Ipswich Public Library is lucky to have a group of young adults, ages 12 to 16, who are known as the TLC (Teen Library Committee). This group meets every 4 to 6 weeks and helps the Young Adult Librarian plan programs for teens and pre-teens, including tournaments with our new Wii equipment. They also provide feed-back on books and other materials they would like the library to purchase. The TLC was especially helpful in helping to redesign and name the Teen Scene area, using a grant of $20,000 the library received from L.S.C.A. Title I funds, through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
The Library offers information sources suitable to our young patrons in varied formats—CDs, DVDs, and playaways, as well as print materials such as magazines for teens and popular fiction and non-fiction titles.
