Mission Statement

The Friends of the Ipswich Public Library is an organization dedicated to the enhancement of our Library. The Friends of the Library is governed by a board which meets monthly and has one annual meeting open to all its members.

Our non-profit organization raises funds – through dues collection and book sales – which are allocated to fund needs that fall outside the regular budget of the Library, such as:

• Children’s, teen, and adult programs
• Museum passes and booking system
• Books and other library materials
• Amenities within the library, such as furniture and electronic equipment
• Maintenance of the Children’s Room freshwater aquarium

2024 Annual Meeting

The Friends of the Ipswich Public Library is holding their Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 9., 2024 at 7pm in the Conference Room which is on the top floor of the library. Join us to hear the FY2024 budget report as well as a report of general activities for the past year. The slate of officers will also be voted on.

If you can’t join us in person but would like your vote to be counted, please fill out a proxy form and bring it to the library or mail it to the Friends of the Ipswich Public Library. Click here to get a printable proxy form.

Louise & Hugh Johnson Author Series

In addition, the Friends sponsor the Louise & Hugh Johnson Author Series, which brings well-known authors to Ipswich 1-2 times each year.
