Teens – exam week is coming up fast! This year, we are working with the Ipswich YMCA to give you some options of where you can find a quiet place to crack open the books or where to go when you need to escape the pressures of studying. Below is a break down of where and when you can find alternative places to study and take a break. *Please note: Did you know the YMCA has a Teen Lounge? That’s where some quiet work and board game play can happen during the YMCA game times if you need another place to study but live closer to the YMCA. For this week you DO NOT need to be a member to use the YMCA for these study/game programs. Saturday, January 25 10:00 AM—12:00 PM Collins Meeting Room, 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA 01938 Did you get a new device over the holidays? Not sure how to use it? Bring your fully-charged device, the box it came in, and all the manuals to this class, and we’ll get you more comfortable with the basics. We will also answer all your questions whenever possible. Some devices require being connected to a personal computer and may not be fully operational during class. This class will be presented by consultant Jennifer Koerber, trainer and speaker on emerging technologies and the social web, and co-author of Emerging Technologies: A Primer for Librarians (Rowman & Littlefield, May 2015). She is also currently affiliated with the Harvard University Library as their Alma Training Manager.
This beautiful holiday gift directly benefits the Library!
Celebrate the Ipswich Public Library’s 150th anniversary with this necklace designed by Ipswich jewelry designer Betsy Frost! The Ipswich Public Library has stood atop Town Hill since 1869, serving the town’s citizens as a place of learning and as a nexus for the community, where everyone is welcome. The Library’s now-familiar logo was inspired by the intricate wrought-iron railing that circumscribes the Gallery, the topmost floor of the building and created as part of the Library’s original structure. Both elegant and workmanlike, this logo has come to quintessentially represent the Library’s past, present, and future. 50% of the sales of this necklace will be donated to the Friends of the Ipswich Library, who support the overwhelming majority of Library programs! The necklace also comes with a bookmark that highlights the Library’s logo design history.
